A cheerful budgie greets me this am as I stagger into the studio this morning, balancing cookies and coffee. Snookums had already raised the blinds and started some Shabbat appropriate music on the puck to entertain said bird, so I just flopped down and munched cookies and sipped coffee until the last rivulets of Lethe’s waters drained away.
Twitter wants me to watch people filing by a POW’s casket in the rotunda, but I skip on by the suggestion. He has my respect as a POW, and I didn’t ask him to be a saint too. But politicians should be carried out and dumped in the refuse bin if they aren’t saints. And he wasn’t. All this lauding of him by Democrats smacks of insincerity.
But I force myself to not dwell here, and move on to more pleasant thoughts of Shabbats, music and sunrises, and what to prepare for breakfast.
Good morning!

I remember when McCain came home. His family lived in the neighboring town to mine, and it was all over the news. He later left his wife and children to be with his current wife. These things happen. As for the week long “funeral” and today’s celebration that was by invitation only and took shots at Trump (no, I did not watch it but read about it), I had to wonder who sends out invitations to a funeral? Sarah Palin was snubbed as was POTUS. I voted for McCain in 2008, a vote I later regretted.
I never liked Trump’s comment about POW’s, but I liked even less McCain’s “no” vote to repeal Obamacare, something he promised his constituents he would do. He killed it as if to say “screw you, Trump.”
As for the flag at half staff controversy, “The flag is to be flown at half-staff at all federal buildings, grounds and naval vessels in the Washington, D.C., area on the day and day after the death of a United States senator, representative, territorial delegate, or the resident commissioner from the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.” Proper protocol was followed but the flag was lowered, again.
Blessings to you and Snookums for a peaceful weekend.

Well, I’m trying to be charitable 😉
We lauded the hero a long time ago
We just buried another stinking politician now.
